In traditional breweries, the process of boiling wort in a brew vessel results in a substantial amount of water being evaporated and released into the atmosphere through the chimney. However, in modern breweries, this process has been improved by using specially designed equipment to recover the residual latent heat.

One way to do this is through the use of an API plate heat exchanger. The vapors are sucked into the plate exchanger and while condensing completely on one side, it heats up water up to 97°C. On the condensation side, a small fan is used to remove incondensable vapors and prevent the condenser from stalling. The resulting hot water can be used for cleaning, preheating wort, or boosting the brew water from the wort cooler.

Another option is the use of our patented Blue Tower vapour recovery system. This system allows multiple brew vessels to connect to a single tower, providing benefits such as a self-cleaning condensate/water heat exchanger and high recovery temperatures.
